Medicinal plant species cultivated
Indonesia is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world. Sumatra alone, one of Indonesia's largest islands, is estimated to host more than 15,000 plant species. Sadly, due to deforestation, unsustainable agriculture, and climate change, many medicinal plant species are under threat of extinction.
Socfindo Conservation Garden plays an active role in preserving these medicinal plants by collecting and cultivating a wide variety of medicinal plant species from across Indonesia, particularly from Sumatra and Aceh.
